Min damage is important. Remember Diablo 2 and how much better weapons were with min damage rings than max damage? The minimum damage made heaps more difference. SO yes, a 15-28 is better than a 14-28 and it does make a difference.

The seller could say it cures cancer, but as a buyer I would still check everything on it before completing the trade. Even if he had said it is max, it is still the buyer's responsibility. There are plenty other actions that warrant banning aside from ones like this that are easily avoidable.

Sorry you fell for that one. I haven't bought any bows or weapons from anyone in a long time. But when I did, I always had a checkpoint system of checking every single stat on the weapon. And I'll repeat to double check to make sure, even if I know for sure I read it all correctly. It's not so much an OCD thing. More like a matter of procedure I do for myself. It makes the trades I did take an extra 8 seconds or so to complete but that was always totally okay.

Normally I'm a careful reader on my trades, especially if I'm paying more than....1k.
But I'd been wanting an eternal bow recently, and in Kamadan, someone spammed "Selling Perfect R.9 Eternal Bow 30k." I'd lost track of Eternal prices, thought, "hmmm, maybe they HAVE dropped that low!"
Read the bow, made the trade, then looked at the bow again:
Req 9 Marksmanship
Damage 20% (health below 50%)
Armor Penetration 20% (20% Chance)
Health +30

I was so annoyed. He distinctly said "Perfect," and I allowed myself to see what I wanted to see. Grrr.

Well, Pyre's got a sweet Eternal.

I eventually found the Eternal Bow I wanted, for far more than 30k.

But... This is not Diablo 2, you know?

In response to the OP: I have never actually fallen for something like this before, but still, pretty good deal imo.

Well, to be honest ... that happened to me too and still can, after a long day online that is. But not buying but selling too.

At a certain point you get so used to everything being maxed especially on Gold items that I tend to forget to check the damage range.

Get a nice req 9 gold drop ... id it ... Weehhheee ... 15^50 ... of to kamadan we go ... WTS ... seeing later it's not maxed.

Can happen if you are unaware.

omg that might have been this guy in my guild. He was asking what a perfect one was worth until he told us it was 20% below.
